Casabiertas is a modular, temporary lodging facility designed to extend the healing process beyond clinical care, offering families a safe, calm, and restorative environment. Organized around the theme of water as healing, connection, and relaxation, the project creates spaces that support rest, play, and community while remaining sustainable and grant-eligible.

Project Poster & Description
Located on nearby leased land, the facility is designed as a modular, temporary, and sustainable structure that meets government grant requirements. The site preserves four existing trees and is organized around two entrances—one connected to the clinic and one to the street. The program includes eight fully wheelchair-accessible dormitory rooms with private washrooms, a reception area, and shared living spaces.
Families enter through a calming reception hall that leads to two common areas—one relaxed and one active—both connected to shared kitchen and dining spaces. Central courtyards support reflection, play, and social interaction, while a classroom with a separate community entrance hosts after-school programs. Additional quiet rooms and an outdoor herb garden offer moments of retreat. Warm, indirect lighting and sustainable systems such as solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and modular construction create a nurturing and adaptable healing environment.
